Hi, I’m Gretchen and I am so excited to connect with you!
I’m truly passionate about helping clients discover small changes that they can make to get amazing transformations so that they can feel better in their body, their health, and across all areas of their life.
I’m a certified Health and Life Coach accredited by the International Coach Federation, E-RYT 500 HR certified yoga instructor, and a certified Functional Fitness Personal Trainer. When I was in my twenties I had a goal-oriented mindset in relation to my body; lose 10 pounds, complete a triathlon, fit into a certain dress size, and of course, I always wanted to look amazing by bikini season. Fast forward twenty years and I’m less interested in six-pack abs and doing handstands and more interested in teaching clients how to build strength in their bodies to move safely and easily as they age and to create a way of eating that is not a diet but a lifestyle choice with the added benefit of weight loss, better sleep and a stronger immune system.
I strongly believe in fostering a safe and nurturing environment for my clients, whether in the yoga studio or in my coaching practice. I prefer to connect with my students on a personal level, teaching from a place of authenticity. You can often hear me sharing the knowledge that I’ve gained from overcoming my addiction to alcohol (8 years sober), parenting a child with special needs on the Autism Spectrum, or dealing with the diagnosis of having a rare breast tumor that resulted in a partial mastectomy. I also incorporate my love of the yoga principles within the coaching practice; non-harming, mindfulness, meditation, and self-care. I encourage clients to sit in the seat of observation within themselves to learn how to listen to that voice of truth that resides within.
I am the owner of Bee Yoga Fusion, a boutique yoga studio in Greenbelt, MD. Bee Yoga Fusion began from humble beginnings in 2009 in the basement of a church, it then moved to the basement of my house, and then in 2016, the studio opened in Roosevelt Center within the historic “new deal” town of Old Greenbelt and where it continues to thrive today.
When I’m not on a yoga mat or coaching clients I enjoy traveling, gardening, and long walks around the neighborhood with my wife, our two teenagers, and our two energetic rescue dogs.
